Can I remortgage if I have help to buy?

You can remortgage once your initial Help to Buy mortgage package expires (this will typically be a fixed rate for between two and five years). You will be forced to use the lender’s Standard Variable Rate (SVR), which can be pricey, if you can’t locate a new offer.
