What is a party wall surveyor?

Party wall surveyors are appointed under the Party Wall etc Act 1996 to settle disputes under the party wall etc act 1996. It is a quasi-judicial process and the surveyors act independently in settling the dispute. Although appointed by an individual they do not represent that individual and operate independently.
