Oakfield Chartered Surveyors is an independently owned RICS practice covering north Hampshire, centred on Basingstoke and the villages along the M3 and A339 corridors. We are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the surveyor who inspects your property is the one who writes and signs the report.
RICS REGULATED · INDEPENDENTLY OWNED · SURVEYOR-LED REPORTS

RICS Level 2 and Level 3 reports
Notices, awards and schedules of condition
Probate, matrimonial and shared ownership
North Hampshire mixes a large amount of 1960s to 1980s development around Basingstoke with older brick-and-flint village housing and converted farm buildings. That difference matters when choosing a survey. A Level 2 HomeBuyer Report is usually right for a conventional post-war house in reasonable order; a Level 3 Building Survey is the sensible choice for period property, anything with a chalk or flint structure, and any house that has been extended or converted.
Our Hampshire work is concentrated in the north of the county. Choose your area for local survey information:
Basingstoke sits close to our Berkshire patch, so we regularly survey on both sides of the county line — including Newbury, Thatcham, Hungerford, Gerrards Cross and the wider Berkshire area.
If your property is further south in Hampshire, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right practice for it.
Our most detailed inspection, for older, larger or altered properties. Condition, defects, causes, risks and costed repair advice.
A concise, cost-effective survey for conventional, modern homes in reasonable condition.
Notices, awards and schedules of condition under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, acting for building owners or adjoining owners.
Red Book valuations for probate, matrimonial and divorce settlements, shared ownership and Help to Buy.
So your buildings insurance reflects what it would actually cost to rebuild.
When one particular issue needs investigating, or a roof cannot safely be reached from the ground. See our specific defect reports and drone roof surveys.
For period and listed properties we also offer historic building surveys and licence to alter advice.
Tell us the address and what you are planning, and we will confirm which level of survey suits the property, what it costs and how soon we can get there. No call centre — you speak to the surveyor.
